this weekend i went to ohio to visit my soul sister/best friend since kindergarten/backup life partner in case marriage doesn’t work out for me. i could go on with the slashes, but i think you get the idea.
this is where that beautiful human lives. i promise it’s less spooky during the day.
see? i rolled over in bed to see the glowing white pathways out her picture-perfect window, snug as ever. the dainty string lights lining the ceiling, the vivid museum postcards hanging on the walls, and our constant consumption of peppermint tea did not hurt the dorm room’s coziness factor one bit.
obviously, tea was not all that sustained us. we indulged in proper breakfasts daily.
her pick: oatmeal with extra milk, berries, and sprinkling of brown sugar.
my pick: plain greek yogurt atop cantaloupe with wheat germ, honey, peanut butter, and cinnamon cinnamon cinnamon.
our evening treats included champagne from mason jars. welcome to dorm life. but really, who needs flutes? i mean, these are portable, so…
the amenities on the small campus where she resides are impressive, to say the least. i managed to utilize the spotless athletic center twice, where students can visit the sauna and steam room, post-workout. if that’s not incentive, i don’t know what is.
other stunning facilities: the college’s fine art studios. this was taken when we stopped in to marvel at the architecture and student works. the visit inevitably turned into us wishing we were more creative. sigh.
the weekend ended all too soon, and before long i was back on the quickie flight to atlanta.
no complaints upon my return, though. i am soaking up the sun and 70-degree temperatures this week with a happy heart.
more to come soon, lovelies.
