do you ever have a day that feels so perfect you just wish you could pause it, rewind it and then play it on repeat?
that was my saturday.
it started with a four-mile run/walk. a friend showed me her favorite route through a nearby atlanta neighborhood, where the homes were stunning and the greenery was phenomenal. my allergies despised me, but the surroundings were well worth the sniffles, sneezes, and–i’ll be honest–snot (cute).
after working up an appetite, i took my sweaty self to meet two friends at dave’s cosmic subs, where we picked up sandwiches for a picnic in the park.
here is my turkey/romano/lettuce/tomato/”special sauce” sandwich on whole wheat in all its greasy, paper bag glory. plus a (half-eaten) pickle, obviously.
and a close-up for good measure:
satisfied and satiated, i sprawled out in the sun with a book in hand. again, my allergies nearly destroyed me, and eventually it was necessary to return home to rest, shower, and scrub off the pollen that had settled on my skin.
after some sleep and some work, i began to get ready for dinner out with friends. thanks to temperatures in the 70s, i was able to bust out some of my spring favorites, like these super light drawstring pants, which i cuffed with flats (remember them from here?) and an eyelet tank.
all gussied up, i made my way to a delicious sushi dinner, followed by an even better dessert: ice cream from morelli’s. the gourmet ice cream shop cycles through different creative flavors weekly. while the rosemary olive oil was intriguing, i opted for the “elvis lives” flavor. pretty much my dreams scooped up in cup: banana ice cream with peanut butter swirled through and big old chunks of chocolate.
and with that creamy goodness, i ended my perfect saturday.
what does your ideal day look like?
