Year in Review.

So everyone’s rehashing 2014 and I’m starting to feel left out. I think it’s only fair that I too take a second to reflect on the past 365 days. Because one of my resolutions is to be more positive (+) this year, I’m harking back to some of my happiest moments from 2014. Who’s in?

Endless thank you’s go to those who were there for these miraculous moments, as well as the less miraculous ones.

From London With Love

Three words: I have arrived. (Three more words: Forgive my pomposity.)

the savoy london

Despite arriving in London just 48 hours ago, I’ve already covered fair territory and — fulfilling every tourist cliché out there — wandered with a camera and map in hand through stunning streets that make my uber-urban heart beat a little bit faster.

Since arriving, I stopped over at Convent Garden, where I stared, starry-eyed, at the flower displays.

Covent Garden

Quickly weaved through Chinatown.

Stopped dead in my tracks at the sight of the pair who thought to take their wedding photos on The Tube. I think it’s safe to say we know who wins the Couple of the Year Award, no?

the tube london

Paid a quickie visit to The Somerset House, where London’s Fashion Week is currently taking place. A friend and I giddily walked the premises, snapping pics as if we belonged. Guess what? We fooled no one.

Drooled at the sight of these tantalizing treats at The Somerset House’s café, which were almost as memorable as the eatery’s customers: chic-as-can-be Fashion Week-goers who provided me with some of the best people-watching I’ve done in some time. I felt slightly less comfortable taking their photos so close up, so banana cake and croissants it was, instead.

But mostly I’ve spent my time getting lost. And loving it. Who really cares which direction is Southeast when your surroundings look this good?

For now, I’m happy to keep on walking in circles.

summer sunday style.

slipped into my sunday best for an afternoon adventure in greenpoint, brooklyn this weekend (and by sunday best i mean ripped jeans and sneakers, clearly).

i paired my favorite eyelet tank (remember it from here?)…

…with a black and white les halles flannel, ripped light-wash AG jeans, and olive leather ash sneakers.

accessories included ray ban sunglasses (hard to see here, but i promise they’re sitting on top of my head) and my everyday wine-colored botkier satchel — see me and this very handbag featured here, on fashion website haute talk’s instagram account.

what does your weekend wear look like?

life lately (2).

a quickie roundup of life lately. nothing astounding — just a little fashion, food, and family time to make me feel exceptionally grateful this week.

sample sale find. i love a good deal. i really do. i vehemently refuse to buy full-price brand name or designer pants. instead, i prefer to hit discount goldmines, like loehmann’s. but when loehmann’s folded as a company just a few months ago (RIP), i realized i needed to step up my sample sale game. so, when friends and i happened to stumble upon a hudson jeans sample sale in the flatiron district this week, i was pleasantly surprised (aka irrationally ecstatic). with some egging on from friends, i purchased these sassy skinnies (above). admittedly, i am a sucker for cheetah and these rang in at 1/3 of their original price. plus, they lessened my grief over loehmann’s closing–though only slightly–and thus i felt obliged to purchase them. ok, my justifications are now complete.

celebrations. my inspiring parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this week. celebrations were undoubtedly in order. despite our failure to make plans until about four hours before dinner time on the day of the event, we managed to luck out and score an outdoor table at tom colicchio’s riverpark. its views of the east river were stunning, but its dishes were, well, more stunning. think fresh pea panna cotta topped with lush crab meat (above), whole dorade fish paired with lemon rinds, artichokes, and olives, and thick spaghetti laced with seafood and sautéed greens (below). the cityscape after dark wasn’t half bad, either.

what did your week look like? check back soon for another post. spoiler alert: it includes brooklyn, pizza, and an east river ferry ride at dusk. you probably (definitely) won’t want to miss it.

springtime garb

toasty temperatures are starting to settle among us atlantans and tucked away spring wardrobe pieces are making a comeback across campus.

a fashionable friend and i decided to take advantage and head to the sunny quad for a couple of scenic snapshots.

a fashion blogger herself, my friend amina knows what’s what when it comes to outfitting. check out all of her awesome posts HERE. she’s even featured me a couple of times. though i can’t say i’d call myself a college fashionista, you can see some of my picks from colder days here and here.

today amina expertly paired loose ripped cutoffs with a drapey tank, black leather booties, and a multicolored oversized tote.

DSC_0313plus some sea foam green and gold studs.

i went a bit more feminine with a light wash denim dress under an army green cheetah print jacket and dusty pink flats.

DSC_0319and my favorite, trusty madewell bracelet. remember it from here? i’m still as in love with it as i was then.

how will you welcome the warm weather with your wardrobe?
